Whats Doing Mondays?

Something you never knew about me....

I have an ancestor (6 x great grandfather, James Ruse) who was on the first fleet of convicts out to Australia! I am descended from the baby son he left behind. Because he was the first convict to work off his sentence, he was granted a plot of land and, I believe, he has schools and roads named after him!

  1. Wow that is interesting! When I was little I heard that a distance relative traced our genealogy to Alexander the Great. Not sure if it is true, but I do need to check it out sometime.

  3. One of these days I'm going to do a book including some of the stories the ancestors got up to.... like the great aunt who had an affair with a married man all her life and they finally married in their sixties! Or the woman who married a man 19 years younger than her!
