Inspirational Mondays - Author interview

On the first Monday of every month I am going to have an interview with an inspirational author.

My first author is Angela Wray whose book Collared: Ashton – a BDSM story in a new series called ‘Collared Lovers’ - is out later this month. Angela is a friend of mine and this is her second book; her first, a paranormal story called The Baker’s Sweets, came out last year. Both are (or will be) available on www.bookstrand.com/angela-wray

The reason she is an inspirational author is because she has worked hard to get this one completed and it went through many rewrites. I am proud of you for sticking at it, sweetie. But she is also an inspirational author because her sex scenes are much better than mine J - I like to think I have helped her improve her writing skill!

Angela describes herself as a sugar whore and she is also addicted to Diet Mountain Dew. She doesn’t drink coffee, doesn’t smoke, or do drugs. She says she is completely and utterly boring (which I disagree!) Read her interview and decide for yourself. Read down to the end and there is a chance to win one of Angela's books.

Tell us about your latest book.

It’s a ménage romance that highlights the love of two men called Collared: Ashton. It is the story of two Doms who are in love but are aware that there is something missing in their relationship and they find it in the heroine, Ashton. My heroes are prior military, and Ty is a hot blonde and Nate a gorgeous Latino man. Both men are large, muscled and yummy. Ashton is a real woman, beautiful red hair and she has hips, breasts and a waist larger than a single digit!

What makes a great hero?

Good material J  Seriously, I think a normal, average guy is what makes a great hero. I mean let’s face it, most of the men who do amazing, heroic things are the ones you don’t expect. It’s the quiet guy at the office—not the sexiest, not the flirt or the ladies man, the real one that makes a difference in the world daily. The real heroes to me are police officers, soldiers, and firefighters. It takes the wrench benders of the military, the police officers patrolling the streets and the firefighters coming to the rescue, to keep the world safe and secure. I tell my children all the time that integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is looking.

Do you have anything in common with your characters?

Not usually J. They are way braver than I am!

Is there any trivia about your latest/forthcoming story that you can share with us?

Talby and Lee are real men! They are friends of my husband that I dearly love, and I can’t wait to write about them. I am thinking their story will be book three in the ‘Collared lovers’ series.

What’s the strangest (bravest, funniest etc) thing you’ve ever done?

Follow my husband across the world, God, I love that man. I would follow him anywhere, and I’ve proved it time and time again. He retired from the US Air Force last year, and for the first time in forever I feel like he is safe and belongs to us and not our country.

Who are some of your favorite authors?

I love anything from Sophie Oak, Jennifer Denys, Missy Martine and Abby Blake.

What are you currently working on, or what’s on the horizon?

Well I am bouncing between, about, four stories. The second in the ‘Weston pack’ series about werewolves, is one of them and the second in the ‘Collared lovers’ series. I’m also working on two other new series—one is about female athletes, and the other is a post apocalypse story. I am mostly focusing on the ‘Weston pack’ series right now.

What do you do when you’re not writing?

Oh boy, my job, first and foremost is wife and mother. My son is 13 and my twin girls are 11, but I also work part-time in the home health field, and love it.

How can you fans find you on the internet?

I hope you enjoyed that interview. Angela has several very different series she is working on. We have heard about her paranormal series, her BDSM one, a sporty one and a futuristic one. Leave a comment and tell us what genre is your preference (one of those or any other) and you have a chance to win either Angela’s new book or her previous book. Drop back to this blog by Friday to see if you have one.

Next month’s inspirational author will be Susan Laine.

  1. My favorite genre is paranormal. I love stories about alpha werewolves. I think that's why I loved The Baker's Sweets so much. I was really looking forward to book 2, but I guess that's not going to happen...yet. ;)

If all of Angela's books are like her first, then I know I'm going to love them. I'm gonna go wait for Collared: Ashton now. :)

    1. Hi Jewel

Thanks for commenting. We've chosen you as the winning comment. Please email angela to say which of her books you would like - although I suspect you've already read The Baker's Sweets in which case you will have to wait until her new book is out but drop her an email to angelawray@live.com

      All good wishes

      Jen Denys

  2. I'm intrigued by your post apocalyptic world...that sounds like it will be a good one! I've read a few steam punk novels that I really liked that were post apocalyptic/new world type. I absolutely love paranormal. :o) Nice to 'meet' you Angela! :o)

  3. Thank you so much for hosting me Jennifer! I had a blast. Thank you to everyone who commented, it's nice to meet you Tatum, FPB and Jewel! I am so glad you liked TBS, Jewel. You will be happy to hear that I am about 25k into the next book for the Weston pack. You get to see Lily and her men and are introduced to a few more of Morgan and Ian's hot cousins. All I can say is yummy! :) Tatum the post apocalyptic story is one I have been working on off and on for about three years but it has more men in it than I normally pair with a woman so it might not be well received. There are five brothers and the female has loved them like treasured friend/family her whole life because they live on neighboring farms. They are seperated for five years before they make it back to one another. :)
Well I hope everyone has a great day, it is still afternoon on the east coast. :) Thanks again Jennifer!
