Smut groupie!

I'm a groupie! Really!! I have now attended all four Smut events - two Smut by the Sea in Scarborough and two Smut city/town events in Manchester and Luton. Apart from the organisers, I am one of few who have done all four... And my ticket is already bought for the next Scarborough event in May.

But back to Luton. Each different location attracts a different group of delegates and it was fabulous to meet up with several fellow erotic romance authors and Facebook friends I knew lived in that area such as Doris O'Connor , Michaela Rhua , Morgan King, Manda Jane Ward - and Raven McAllen who flew down from Scotland!

Here is me with Doris and Raven:

These were the ones I expected to meet - it was also lovely to meet up with other new folk as well as some regulars like my lovely friend and fellow groupie, Bella Settarra!

We had some great sessions such as one on using your senses in your stories from Victoria Blisse - although for the 'smelling' activity I could have been the object of everyone's sniffs since I managed to spill a full glass of orange juice down my jeans on the train to Luton! I had to reassure the catering assistant on board that it was OJ and not because I hadn't made it to the toilet in time!

Moving swiftly on, there was a terrific hula hooping demo from Helen Orford - this pic is a screenshot from the video I took. By the time this section of her act finished she was in a white dress! Amazing.

Charlie Forrest gave a most interesting lecture (with demo) on rope bondage. Lots of useful info for when I next write a bondage scene like the fact that cocoanut rope may be abrasive, but is great for sensation play....

Zak Jane Keir made us think about adding kink to our hobbies. So taking the idea of 'write what you know' a step further and considering if you can include any of your hobbies in your writing .... She managed to write an erotic Morris dancing story, for example!

As usual there were the reading slams and I read an extract from my book due out next month with Luminosity Publishing, called 'BDSM Weekend' set in an English country manor. The scene I read was in the ballroom, but the emphasis was on very different kinds of balls altogether!

And then I had to head home... But I'll be back as I'm doing a session at the next Scarborough event on 'Researching Werewolf stories' as the theme is all things paranormal........ Watch this space!
