Many Happy Returns to Evernight. As an author, I’m thrilled to share my stories with you and Evernight helps make my books shine! I have been with them for just over a year and have seen how they have grown in that time with lots of new authors adding great books to their booklist, some of whom I am pleased to say I have become friends with. I met up with three of them (fellow UK writers for Evernight), Morgan King, Doris O’Conner and Michaela Rhua during the summer. I also visited Tatum Throne in the US last Autumn, as I did Susan Laine in Finland (co-conspirator on The Last Werewolf!). It is a great community of writers.
My latest book is due out with Evernight later this month. This is ‘Retraining the Dom’, the sequel to ‘Retraining the Sub’, which came out last year.

Club Allure has a retraining program for Doms, and Trey must go on it. However, he is much too strong a Dom to let anyone else order him around. The owner of the club comes up with the idea of asking an older and extremely experienced Domme to retrain Trey, and try to understand his hidden past. Unlike the Dom, Olivia sticks to the rules, and is also very imposing physically. What no-one knows is that Olivia is a sub at heart, but through circumstances became a Domme. She has to try to stop Trey topping her, but he is everything she ever wanted in a Dom and a man, except too many years have passed. Meanwhile, Trey finds himself having fun with a woman for the first time and gradually recognizes the sub in Olivia. But when Dom challenges Domme, who will win?

Evernight are offering some fabulous prizes. To enter to win the Grand Prizes use Rafflecopter: http://www.rafflecopter.com/rafl/display/e561a316/
In addition, I am offering three prizes: first prize is a packet of prizes as in the pic below (a heart necklace, a notepad, a pen, a bookmark, and a keyring). Second prize – A heart-shaped sticky notepad, a pen, a postcard, and a bookmark. And third prize – A heart-shaped sticky notepad, a magnet and a bookmark. Each winner will also have an ebook of ‘Retraining the Sub’.

In order to take part in the competition for my prizes, read the excerpt below for ‘Retraining the Dom’ and leave a comment along with your email address (you cannot enter unless I receive both of these) telling me what aspect of BDSM you most enjoy reading about and why. I will contact each winner by email but check back on the 15th to see who has won.

Meanwhile, it’s the perfect time to buy the Evernight titles on your to-be-read list, as well as new gems you find during the event, because Evernight’s entire backlist is on sale at www.evernightpublishing.com and www.allromanceebooks.com through to 7 October!

Sean grimaced as he warily watched the ‘play’ taking place in the room.  He was the owner of Club Allure one of the most successful BDSM clubs in the city.
His eyes narrowed as they alighted on Master Trey, one of his long-standing Doms who was in his forties. He was in his usual stark black outfit, matching his hair, and was very stubborn and moody. Like now, Trey had his naked sub tied over a spanking bench and was hitting her with a crop. There was nothing unusual in that since sadomasochism was an element of BDSM that many practitioners took part in, but in this case Trey was possibly being too forceful given the look of agony on the sub’s face.
Sean glanced down at the document in his hands and frowned.

Retraining Program (Doms)

Dammit! How on earth was he going to tell Trey, one of the most powerful Doms that Sean had ever come across, that he had to go on the club’s Retraining Program?
“Hey, Sean. Seems like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders.” A deep voice interrupted his musings as a tall, well-built woman in her early fifties came and sat next to him at the bar.
“Oh, hi, Olivia. I surely do.” Olivia Redmond was one of his mature Dommes. Now why can’t Trey be more like her? She sticks to the rules.
“What’s up? Can I help?”
He chuckled sarcastically. “Yeah, sure. You can go and tell Trey that he has to go on the Retraining Program.” Sean didn’t expect her, for an instant, to comply with his request.
Instead she burst into laughter. “You have to be kidding! Trey on the Program. Mister Control himself.” She continued her laughing, attracting the gazes of all those nearby. Olivia was a loud person not only in what she wore, which on this occasion was a red leather top which barely kept her voluptuous chest covered. The top was teamed with a matching pair of tight trousers and five inch stiletto heels. This made her tower over Sean, despite the fact that he was fairly tall himself, but she was also loud in her mannerisms. One could never lose Olivia in a crowd. If you didn’t see her a mile away, you would certainly hear her.
Thankfully Trey wasn’t close enough to hear her outburst, but Sean still shushed her.
She simply raised an eyebrow, before continuing in a slightly quieter voice. “So how’s the Retraining Program going?”
Sean had instigated the program to ensure the high standards of the club were kept. These not only included safe BDSM practices, but also members respecting each other so all could enjoy the lifestyle. There was a similar program for subs. He smiled to himself as he recalled one particular couple it had worked out really well for, that of Master Lucas and his sub, Annabel—now his wife.
The sound of a voice penetrated his daydream. It was Olivia repeating her question. “Sorry.” Sean explained further at her questioning look. “Didn’t you hear about the incident the other night?” Olivia shook her head. “Trey totally lost it. He was punishing his sub and went hell for leather at her, swearing, calling her all sorts of names. We had to pull him off before he did permanent physical damage.”
“Ker-rist!” Olivia was clearly shocked. She rarely swore, and then only when she was riled.
“Respect works both ways. Yes, a sub has to respect her Dom, but he has to return it. That’s the problem with Trey. He doesn’t care about his subs, neither their physical well-being nor their emotional.”
“Good luck telling him this.” Olivia’s misgiving was obvious.
Sean harrumphed and shifted in his seat trying to ease the tension in his shoulders.
Olivia frowned. “What are the options if he doesn’t go through with the Program?” She answered her own question. “I guess he has to leave, and that will affect his reputation in the community so no-one will want to sub with him again, if another club will let him in, that is.”
“That’s the crux of it. He could advertise for a sub, but chances are any reputable sites won’t take his advert. Of course, there are the less-than-desirable sites. I worry that he’ll take a sub on privately and get carried away with no-one around to stop him. At least here we can keep an eye on him.”
Leaning back against the counter of the bar, Olivia replaced a clip to restrain a wayward curl. She always kept her long, dark hair tied back neatly giving her a quite severe look. “How about a warning to see if that will curb his excesses?”
“Yup. Try telling me something new. Or even better come up with a solution.” Sean could hear the desperation in his own voice.
Olivia was silent for a few moments as she seemed to think through the dilemma. “Okay, how about teaming him with someone physically strong enough that he will think twice, like Mike?”
“I asked, he won’t do it. And I agree. They’d just kill each other.”
A few more seconds went by and then she said, “Here’s another idea. How about a using female, one of the Mistresses, but a resilient one? One he can’t dominate even if they are a Dominatrix. It’s more subtle than using a Dom.”
Sean stared at Olivia in astonishment. She wasn’t looking at him, but he knew that was exactly what he needed. “That is absolutely brilliant! And I’ve got just the person in mind.”
She swiveled her head around to look at him. “Who?”
He grinned at her. “So what are you doing at this moment…”

Good luck!

  7. I love all aspects pertaining to BDSM, but my favorite part is when a sub struggles to give power completely over to the Dom and I also love when a Dom takes all control away from the sub, and I also like reading about all of the different types of scenes.. I enjoyed the excerpt and I love the cover. Amy Bowens

  8. The excerpt makes me intersted. It hints at a pretty cool plot tat I dont think Ive read before. Should make for an amusing read :D

  9. I love the demanding domineering ways of the Dom! I would never be able to be a sub because I enjoy being the bossy one! Happy Birthday Evernight! n.kuhn.acn@gmail.com

    1. It's not easy being a sub when you are used to being bossy,. Thanks, Nicole

  10. Loved the excerpt!! What I like most about BDSM is the absolute control the Sub actually has. Everyone thinks the Dom holds the power, but if the Sub doesn't trust enough and respect enough to submit, there is no Dom. (I love Dom Alpha Males though!!)
    Happy Birthday to Evernight!!
    Ashley A

    1. Thanks, Ashley. Trust and respect are important in the new book.

  12. Nice excerpt. the trust part

    bn100candg at hotmail dot com

  13. Trust and actually being submissive ( especially when you're use to being in control.. But I think it's cool because you can open your self up and just truly feel... I think that's hot)

  14. Cool excerpt, can't wait to see how it plays out. if I had to pick something specific about that lifestyle it would be sensation play, being tickled and laughing.

  15. I love the balance of trust and power in BDSM. A a shiny new flogger! *grin*

  16. I love the concept of menage, so the idea of submitting to two Doms really floats my boat! bellasettarra@gmail.co.uk

    1. In that case you need to read 'Retraining the Dom' when it comes out....

  17. Thanks for the excerpt and the chance to win, Jennifer. I like watching the relationship change, either watching people explore the physical and mental and then it goes to the heart or watching an established relationship explore new facets of themselves. I enjoy the discovery.

  18. Love the excerpt. What I think fascinates me with BDSM is the whole control thing. Knowing you can let go and that the Dom has your best interest at heart and know what you need. Thank you for the giveaway.

  19. loved the excerpt. i think the whole Dom /sub relationship is fascinating. i like to read about all the different types of interactions they have one on one without the club/others.

  22. Loved the excerpt!
I enjoy reading most aspects of BDSM. One of my favorites is Shibari. I think it is beautiful. The skill that it takes for someone to do that and the trust that both use pulls me into the scene. :)
Thank you for sharing and the great giveaway.
    Happy B-day to Evernight!

    1. Thanks, Tina. You may enjoy Retraining the Sub then as I have a Shibari scene in that book,
