Alien Manhunt - winner of Best Gay Heroes award

Further to my fabulous news about winning three awards in the Ménage Romances Fans’ Awards (thanks to all my wonderful fans), here is the third book I am highlighting:

Alien Manhunt’ – winner of the Ménage Romances Fans’ Awards – Best Gay Heroes characters (which was also a runner up in the Futuristic and Romance on the Go series categories for Evernight Readers’ Awards a few months ago)

This story came to be in a dream one night. Really! I woke up having just dreamt it and immediately thought, “What a great short story that would be.” I had never intended to be a short story writer because it takes a totally different skill to writing novellas – you can’t tell the whole journey of their romance, just an episode within it.

But I just had to write it up, pretty much as I dreamt it with lots more detail – although I added a third character at some stage.

Having finished it, though, I was sorry to let the characters go so soon and when readers indicated they wanted to know what happens next, I decided to write a sequel, ‘Alien Manhunt 2’.

There will be an ‘Alien Manhunt 3’ which will come out later this year – just to round off the story. Three aliens, three planets.

But back to AM 1 – here is the blurb: Abducted and forced to run for his life in a manhunt comprised entirely of human men, Greg spies the two aliens fiercely competing to capture him, and he begins to lust after both of them. Taran, a hunky humanoid/reptilian, and Suva, a tall, beautiful, slender creature, are both desperate to get to the human first, while being attracted to each other. Back on Earth Greg was the dominant one, but the situation has changed now. What do they want with him? Sell him, torture him or make him into their sex slave? Each one keeps their innermost desires secret. But is the truth finally out?

Reviews include: This is the first book I have had the pleasure reading by Jennifer Denys, definitely will be reading much more. Gave the book 5 stars because I loved the ménage relationship between the men...scorching!

Torn Between Two Lovers - winner of Best Paranormal Award

Further to my fabulous news about winning three awards in the Ménage Romances Fans’ Awards (thanks to all my wonderful fans), here is the second book I am highlighting:

Torn Between Two Lovers’ – winner of the Ménage Romances Fans’ Awards – Best Paranormal (it also came runner up in Best Contemporary and Best Shapeshifter categories).

This is the second in ‘The Haunt of the Wolves’ series set in a werewolf BDSM club (the first one being ‘Collared by Wolves’). What I liked about doing this series is that since werewolves set themselves apart from the human community (and they are mythical anyway!) I could play around with the rules of BDSM and make it rougher – being wolves they like to bite and claw. Also non-consensual bondage - they chained up any bratty submissive werewolves whether they wanted to be chained up or not as a play on canines being chained.

I also had my first death in this book.

But back to TBTL, what I liked when writing this story was playing off the heroine’s human lover against her werewolf lover. The blurb says it all: The mysterious werewolf entity from ‘Collared by Wolves’ is called on again when lovely submissive shifter Evie Pierce, runs out on her alpha werewolf Dom, tall and hunky Stefan Russell. A handsome human, Jace Talbot, a visitor to the area, who doesn’t know that werewolves exist, rescues her from malicious rogues who attack her in the forest.

As she recovers they begin to fall in love, but Evie has a dilemma. She is torn between Jace and his sensual, romantic ways and her old BDSM life with Stefan, and all the excitement that brings.

A confrontation between the two men leads to a stark realization, horror, and betrayal. This changes all their lives as they struggle to understand what has happened, and then a natural disaster means the two men have to work together. But what will happen once it’s all over? Whom will she choose? Human or werewolf? Gentle or rough?

In order to win her over the human has to show his strength and the werewolf has to show his emotions – both the opposite of their normal selves – so it was fun to play around with character development.

Here’s an excerpt:

The rain lashed at Evie’s face as she exited her car, hitting her cheeks like pinpricks, and she turned away, causing her hair to blow into her eyes. Irritated, she swiped it away with a growl.
“Dammit!”
Like members of her wolf family, she abhorred storms. It didn’t matter when she was in her wolf self as her fur was thick and waterproof, but when it was turning into a gale like this one was, she instinctively wanted to find her fellow wolves and curl up under the pines, noses tucked in, sharing heat, staying safe.
Instead she was in her human form about to visit Jace.
Things had got better with Stefan. In the last week he had worked hard to refresh her submissive training, and it had been successful. She seemed to have gotten past her fears. In the meantime, he was somehow gentler than he had been before, more caring. It was a welcome surprise. Evie wondered if it was because of the attack or because he feared her leaving him for Jace.
But whether to marry him or not was still up in the air, and she knew he desperately wanted an answer from her. He had even gone as far as telling her that he would take no other submissives if she was his mate as well as his sub.
“Really?” She had been skeptical.
He had cupped her face. “If that’s what it takes for you to be my mate.”
Evie believed him, but somehow, her past jealousies didn’t matter that much-except Brenda. She would always be the thorn in Evie’s side. The issue instead was which of her lovers she would miss more if she had to give one up. That was why she was now standing outside Jace’s front door—to make a decision one way or another.

Reviews include: I really loved this book

Bounty Hunters Captive - winner of Best Sci-fi award

Further to my fabulous news about winning three awards in the Ménage Romances Fans’ Awards (thanks to all my wonderful fans), here is the first book I am highlighting:

Bounty Hunters’ Captive’ – winner of the Ménage Romances Fans’ Awards – Best Sci-fi (it also came runner up in Best Light Bondage and Best Straight Characters categories).

This story came out of a much earlier contemporary book, ‘Friendly Seduction’ in which a sci-fi writers enlists the help of a friend to add more sex into the sci-fi he is writing and in doing so they fall in love.

‘Bounty Hunters’ Captive’ is the story they wrote and I always felt it would be good to write it for real. What I wasn’t reckoning on was making it into a series, however, Tianna, the sister of one of the heroes, went and got herself kidnapped, too (believe me, the characters do it all themselves whether we want them to do it or not!). So BHC became the first of a new series called ‘Captured in Space’. I am working on the second one as we speak – title still to be decide, but something like ‘Captive of Two Imperial Princes’ and it will be Tianna’s story. This one will be finished in the next couple of months.

Meanwhile, back to BHC – what I loved about this was adding in sci-fi references (being a sci-fi geek myself) so there are references to:

Star Trek (Prime Directive)
Star Wars (Naboon)
Babylon 5 (De Lenn)
Forbidden Planet (Krellim)
Battlestar Gallactica (Dagget)
War of the Worlds (spaceship with three wings)
Dune (Melange)
Dr Who (Gallifris)
Stargate (Chulluk)
The Thing from Outer Space (flesh eating plants)
Superman (Krypton rock)
2001 A Space Odyssey (Hal) ……. To name but a few

(Most of the words I use are slightly altered from the original, afterall, we are talking about a galaxy far far away …..)

Anyhow this is the blurb: Garin Avon is a rugged bounty-hunter in space who has a mission to find a contracted sex slave, the beautiful Felissa Delenn, who has run-away from her master. He has secret reasons, more than just the credits he will earn—to get vital information. Meanwhile, he has to contend with his double-crossing ex-partner, fun-loving Rayn Dargo. They join forces, but on the journey home they go through various adventures with pirates, aliens, and meteorites, amongst others. Both of the men begin to fall for sassy, smart-talking Felissa. She takes advantage of this using her skills to try to persuade them not to send her back to her vile owner. This sets the two bounty-hunters at each other’s throats. Will they return her to a life she only undertook for dire reasons, even though, for Garin, it is vital he returns her? And if they keep her, will she run away from them?

Reviews include: This book was really good. Garin, Rayn, and Felissa had a lot of funny moments and I found myself laughing out loud at stuff they said.

Here are a few of my favourite funny snippets from the story:

“Well, for Christ’s sake, Garin, what are you waiting for? Go and kill it with a neck pinch or light saber or something!”
Glancing up he could see the green giant rising to his feet as Felissa ran by him. “Shit!” He turned and quickly caught up with her.
She screamed at him. “He’s still following! Why didn’t you do something?”
“You’ve been watching too much sci-fi. I’m getting out of here.”

Felissa’s foot was injured,” Garin lamely explained.
His partner raised an eyebrow. “Really? And you were mending her with your dick, eh? I’ll have to remember that remedy in future.”

Pointing at the screen, Garin demanded, “There. Hit it dead center with the photons and it will set off a wormhole.”
Felissa goggled at him with incredulity. “Won’t that just blow it up along with everything else in the universe, and obliterate all mankind, or turn into a black hole, or something?”
He nearly smiled. “What did I tell you about your love of sci-fi?”

Rayn groaned, and huskily said, “Garin, for crying out loud, do something or she will kill me.”
Garin loomed above them, his arms crossed, wryly retorting, “Well, you are horizontal already, so that makes death easier.”

“Thought you were too tired, Garin,” queried Rayn teasingly as his heavy breathing started to ease.
His partner grunted. “I had to do something to exhaust her. Otherwise she’ll hit the warp booster by mistake, and we’d end up at the ends of the universe.”

Something you never knew about me....

Something you never knew about me…..

I collect foreign dolls. It began when I was about 8 and my cousin bought me a set of six foreign dolls in a box. One of those mass-produced doll sets, none of which came from their original country!

Over the years I collected a huge number from all parts of the globe (not that I’ve visited every corner of the world but I asked people to get me a doll if they were going somewhere I didn’t have one from – I particularly liked to get them from the proper country).

I had a clear out about 10 years ago and gave a number of ‘repeat’ dolls (the mass produced type ones!) to a colleague’s young daughter but I still have about fifty left.

This picture is of a few of them from countries such as China, Korea, India, Fiji, New Zealand, Aruba (I think), Russia, Poland, Greece, Spain, Holland … and closer to home the hairy barbarian from Scotland!
